Welcome to Math 2623!

To help all the students in my classes, I created simple web pages which you can use throughout the term.  I have included copies of handouts, as well as a copy of the class notes.

Good luck!

Hints for Opening and Printing Chapter Notes:

If you choose to print out the chapter notes, follow these tips for more efficient printing...

  1. The files for the chapter notes have been created in Power Point and can be quite large.  If you double click on the chapter note file and it is taking long to open, you may have to save it to your desktop (hard drive) and retrieve it from there.  .  To save the file to your desktop, Right click on the chapter file and Save Target As   (Type in file and you can save it on the Desk top to find it easier--remember to delete this file when done, please)

  2. Open the Power Point file of the chapter notes (double click on the file now located on your desktop) and now your are ready to print...

  3. Once the chapter note file is open, you are ready to print:  Using the top tool bar (of Power Point version of chapter notes), simply hold down File, and select Print.

  4. To save paper, you can choose to print more than one slide per page.  This option may vary for different computers, but usually once you choose print, the Print box will come up.  Using the pull-down menus, select the following:  Print what: choose Handouts.  Slides per page: I think  4 or 6 slides per page is best.  Also, you can make sure you do not waste color ink by selecting grayscale under the  Color/ grayscale option.

The information contained in the Microsoft Power Point files from this website was taken from the text:  For All Practical Purposes: Mathematical Literacy in Today's World, 7th ed., by  COMAP, W. H. Freeman and Company, and is intended to be used solely as additional study aids for the college students taking the YSU Survey of Math class Fall 2006 semester in Mrs. Adduci's classes.
